Who are we?

Blossoming Communities CIC was created in March 2021 and started delivering Wellbeing Workshops in November 2021. It was created and is run by three friends that have worked together on and off for many years in youth and community work.

The evolution of Blossoming Communities was as a response to Covid 19 and the huge impact it had on mental health, and the loss and isolation experienced in our community.

They collectively have over 90 years experience of working in the community with people of all ages. They have experience of working with people with additional needs, physical and mental health issues ,young people, Looked After Children, People experiencing domestic violence, people with addictions, carers and the homeless.

The directors have worked in the voluntary, statutory and private sectors, they have tried to take the positives from each environment and created a happy, supportive working environment that isn't profit driven, restricted by a top heavy management structure or run by people without the relevant experience or qualifications. They have created an organisation that understands the communities it works in and is flexible, enabling it to respond to local needs in a timely and person centred manner.

The directors have experience of recruiting staff and volunteers, project development, budget management, project management and delivery and managing teams. They also have training nd qualifications up to degree level.

The organisation has a positive mental health ethos which is paramount not just in the delivery of the work but also in it's management, partnerships and funding. Blossoming Communities tries to steer clear of toxicity and promote positivity.

Sue, Jenny and Sharon have a shared vision for Blossoming Communities. One of the reasons that they work so well together is that they have complimentary skill sets and interests.
